Target shots fired at Minneapolis MN headquarters, SWAT team called to find gunman shooter

SWAT teams responded to reports of gunfire at the 11-story Retek building, part of the Target headquarters in downtown Minneapolis on Friday, Nov. 16.

Over a dozen squad cars and a SWAT team were called to 10th Street South and Nicollet Avenue when there were shots-fired reports around 11:30 a.m.

SWAT teams and police K-9s units swept the building and said it was all clear to come back into the building..

Shots were heard near the 10th floor Employees in the area were told to stay in their offices.

"We're all in a conference room. They had an announcement we should go into a locked office but no details were revealed at the time.

At the nearby University of St. Thomas an alert advising students to stay in place until an all clear is issued. The campus is about one block west of the Target building.
